Ciara and Oliver start dating and when Covid 19 settles in and they have to go into lockdown they decide to stay together. Both have a secret and there is a deadly outcome.
This is another book I've read recently set in the present times with Covid. Again for me it didn't add anything to the story. The actual events in the story could have still worked without a lockdown. The characters could still move in together, they didn't really need a pandemic to do so. Is this going to be a thing now with Covid in books.
Apart from the Covid setting I did enjoy the book. The story goes back and forth in time as we follow the characters and find out what happens and why.
The story had plenty going on and did have a twists, one of which caught me off guard and I had to reread the section to see if I had read it correctly.
The three books I have now read by this author I have enjoyed and will read more in the future. A solid four stars but I didn't think the pandemic was needed as the story would have been the same without it.
