This is a non spoiler review for another excellent thriller by Catherine Ryan Howard. The story is told by a number of narrators, Ciara, Oliver and also Lee (the senior police officer) who is investigating the unexplained death, moving backwards and forwards in time – you definitely need to be fully awake to appreciate this book.
When the pandemic started I didn't think I would ever want to read a book featuring the pandemic, but actually this book uses the timeline of the first lockdown well.
I thought I had guessed who Ciara was quite early on but I was totally wrong. This is a story full of tension and twists, and uses the Covid 19 lockdown to create the perfect cover for the events of the story. I apologise for the short review but every time I try to add another sentence I realise that I’ve given away something from the story. I’m happy to recommend this book to readers of my book reviews.
