Oh well this one had me on the edge of my seat! I know not everyone can cope with pandemic based fiction right now, but if you can make an exception, make it for this BRILLIANT thriller!

56 days ago Ciara meets Oliver in a supermarket queue, and despite both their doubts, things move pretty quickly from there - especially when lockdown hits. But today, one of them is found dead in the flat that they shared, and it turns out neither of them were who they said they were…

I’m giving very little away because this book packs so many surprises and punches, and I wouldn’t want to ruin that for you! But seriously, you need to read this - it’s so addictive and fast paced, and I just loved the date format as we go back and forth in time to unravel this mystery.

Aside from all the brilliant stuff you’d expect from a thriller though, it’s also one of the most entertaining and brilliantly observed novels I’ve read in quite some time - from the fear as Covid became known and got closer to home, to the way it rushed so many relationships when lockdown was enforced. It’s also just honestly full of the best banter (I do hate that word generally, but nothing else works better to describe this!), between the police investigating the crime whose witty back and forth had me in stitches, to the early conversation between Ciara and Oliver. It’s just an absolute joy of a book all around, from how clever it is as the pieces slot together, to how surprisingly funny and light it is too. Loved it!
