Loved it
I was really excited to win and then read 56 days, especially as it is based during lockdown so feels super current. This is a psychological thriller that will certainly pull you deep into the storyline and keep you hooked.
Set in Ireland during the covid-19 lockdown, two people meet up buying their lunch in Tesco's and decide that they don't want to be alone during lockdown and as she has just a tiny studio flat they decide to stay together in his flash new apartment. But that was 56 days ago and now one of them has been found in a decomposing state in the bathroom, but who is it?
The police officer in charge of the case certainly needs a strong stomach when working on solving this murder (or is it murder)!! A pack of date rape drugs was found in the bathroom cabinet, surely the victim didn't take it on their own?
I was over half way through and still I had no idea who did what and even nearing the end I still got it wrong about how it was going to pan out. Most of the storyline takes place in Dublin in a block of flats with a minimal amount of characters - a true reflection of the lockdown experience.
