Thank you to Reader's First and Corvus Books for the copy of the book in exchange for an honest review of 56 Days.

It's not often that I pick up a book and reluctantly have to put it down because I need to attend to the world outside of the book. This book is exactly that!

Catherine Ryan Howard has created a masterpiece of interwoven stories in different timelines set in Dublin at the start of of the Covid-19 lockdown. As the book is set in such a recent time, it is plausible to think that this scenario could have happened. Oliver and Ciara accidentally meet at a supermarket, and after a few days, decide to move in together. After all, the lockdown was only going to last two weeks.

As the story unfolds, we start to wonder about Oliver's little eccentricities. And as an asthmatic myself, I did wonder where his inhalers were too? Ciara also seems to be holding something back, but we're not really sure what it could be, and when I finally realised what it was, it really was the twist in the tale. And I absolutely loved that about the way that Catherine Ryan Howard managed to keep me engrossed throughout this book.

As we discover a new snippet of information about either Oliver or Ciara, we are taken back to a period of time. It is this period of time that explains the current situation and gives greater insight into the lives of Oliver and Ciara. It is only in the last few chapters that we discover the truth behind both these characters.

The last few sentences of the book was the perfect ending to this story, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it!
