Immediately the cover of the book drew me in, 'the perfect murder', really ?
I liked the style of short chapters, flitting between the time line and also between the characters.
There are 3 main characters: Oliver, Ciara and the Lee (the detective). Reading the same event from different perspectives gives a good depth to the plot, how certain actions can be seen to mean different things and the consequences of that.
The descriptions were just right, not too much and not too little, reading the story I can picture it in my head like a film playing out. This would make a good film.
I read this in a day, I had to read more and had trouble putting it down. The story itself is a complete story, nothing missing and no loose ends, which is satisfying as a reader.
There are a few twists, the final one I didn't see coming, which is quite unusual for me. I can usually work out where the story is going, this took me by surprise, all the clues were there, I made an assumption which I think many other readers will too, it made sense, but the final twist put another depth to it.
A great book that I would definitely recommend.
