I was lucky enough to receive a copy of "56 Days" in return for an honest review.

The tagline reads "No one knew they were together. Now one of them is dead." and this immediately drew me into the intrigue. Ciara and Oliver have met 56 days ago in a supermarket queue and start dating the same week COVID-19 reaches Ireland. The book then follows the development of their relationship through lockdown up until "today" - when detectives discover a decomposing body, but who is it?

The book is told from various different characters views, the past is told by Oliver and Ciara, and the present is the story of detectives Lee and Karl.

The book jumps backwards and forwards with the chapter headings letting you know where in the story you are, Oliver and Ciara each tell the same days but from their own point of view. This can often sound a little repetitive but the author has written it in a way that it's interesting to read it from each of their perspectives.

We quickly discover that Oliver is not exactly who he says he is, and it's a treat to try and work out who he is and how Ciara will react if she finds out. Without giving anything away, it definitely messes with your own emotions thinking about his past and his present.

Did I guess who and what they are? Partially. The ending? Nope!

It's well written, easy to read and I loved it. I would like to note however that there is a small section that may be triggering for some people. Highly recommended.
