This first impression is from the third book in a series, and I felt that I needed to have read the previous two to have a real investment in the characters. I think that Anton Du Beke sets a scene well, but this really isn't my kind of story - I don't do romantic fiction. The cover is apt for the story, but I'd skip over it in a bookshop or library.
