This is the third instalment in Anton Du Beke’s series following the lives of Nancy, Raymond and the rest of the staff and the glorious Buckingham Hotel. Like the books before “A Christmas to Remember” is the perfect balance of heartwarming fairytale romance with the grit and honesty of what life in 1938 was like. Britain is on the eve of World War Two and you really start to see the impact this has on the characters that we have now grown to know and love. If you like Downton Abby and Strictly Come Dancing then chances are you will love this book. However don’t be fooled into thinking this is a lighthearted whimsical story. Du Beke really manages to set the scene of what London was like at the time and the challenges that people had to face. This really is a great book that you can lose yourself in and I cannot wait to read the next instalment!!!
