As soon as I saw the cover of this book I knew I needed to own it! It is absolutely stunning and was not only super excited to learn that Anton Du Beke had written a third novel, but the fact that it returned us to our favourite characters, such as hotel maid Nancy Nettleton and dancer Raymond de Guise, but that it was a both a wedding and Christmas book just made it perfect! The cover alone connotes the magic of the period, the glitz and glamour that cannot be recaptured and the nostalgia that invokes, even for those of us who were not even alive at the time, shows the power of the era and the image presented here. Nancy could be any of us in any time period, and her ability to overcome her upbringing and affliction and truly make something of herself is a truly universal theme throughout the ages, classes and cultures of our time and others. The fairytale ending we hoped for for Nancy and Raymond, who was also not as he appeared, warms the heart and is a truly magical tale of Christmas past and present, and the joys of looking to tomorrow with a song in our hearts and a dance in our step! Bravo again Anton, I've loved all three books and revisiting Nancy has brought me more joy this time around.
