I have been known to read and enjoy historical fiction. I have even been known to be not averse to some love interest within the sub-plot. However, I do struggle to really enjoy books that lean overly heavily on the romance side and start to stray into full blown Mills & Boon territory. Unfortunately, my first impression of this novel is that it will fall into that category. I am sure plenty of other people will enjoy it, but not for me, I'm afraid.
