Really dislike these Poldark-esque snoozers

2 things put me off about this book before even getting in to this first impression.

Firstly the revelation this would be the 5th book in the series,of which I have read none. Secondly the statement it would be great for fans of Poldark, which certainly isn't me.

I dutifully read the 29 and a bit pages of actual story contained, and I'm sure that people who have read the previous books or who like these tales would have been jumping for joy, it isn't one for me. A slow romance novel which reveals far to much in this teaser to make me want to continue and I don't think I will be picking up the preceding novels in the hopes they catch my attention more I'm afraid.

However I did really like the character listings at the front, with different family trees and little details, that was a good and quirky touch for the families of presumed historical importance and record?
