I was very keen to start reading this book as I love anything written about 1700's to 1800's.
I did find the plot was a little slow to get going and it was half way through the book that it became something I wanted to keep reading.
The style of writing was different to what I expected, I became somewhat tired of reading how Amelia felt for Edmund and the quilt she felt. Only as the story proceeded did you get a flavour of what was happening and how the characters showed their true side. I did like the way Luke was portrayed and how he fitted into the plot.
As the storyline progressed there were twists and turns and it kept me guessing the final outcome.
I would recommend you give this book a go as the author tried to portray the times of the 1700's and her knowledge of the Cornish coast. All in all, a good read. This would make an excellent gift for someone who loves reading.
