in the first impression review I though the book would be my cup of tea as it reminded me of a classic bronte novel. Howveer, after reading the first few chapters and finding it quite hard work to get into I have realised that the book isnt really for me.
I think the characters are good, they ahve a deep and rich backstory which makes the plot seem to move along but there is something about the plot that seems like you are driving the plot on. I tried reading in chunks and found it a difficult read, I read it in longer runs and found it was easier but I found it quite hard work and ultimately stressful to finish.
The cover is nice and it does seem to have relevance to the contents of the book. I just wish the text, tone and plot were easier to connect with and follow as I was really excited.
