I was actually a bit disappointed with A Cornish Betrothal. I think the author is a talented author and I will certainly be reading more from them but I think the premise of the story is where I struggled. Amelia's sweetheart Edmund goes off to war and is missing, presumed dead which leaves Amelia heartbroken. As she grieves, she finds comfort in the kind physician, Luke, which leads to her falling deeply in love with him. However, Edmund returns but is a very different man but Amelia feels conflicted. Personally though I understand why she tried to rekindle her romance with Edmund, I think she was doing it at a great personal sacrifice of her own happiness, acting more as his nurse than as his betrothed. I think Luke was the clear choice but I can understand the conflict. Overall it was a little predictable but that said I would recommend it to others.
