This novel was beautifully written and kept me hooked all the way through. The characters were described brilliantly and really drew you in to their lives. Especially the life of the main character Amelia and her family. I liked the little inserts at the end of each chapter talking about the herbs and treatments mentioned in the chapter. This book kept me interested all the way through and the twist to the story was fantastic. I haven't read anything from this author before but l definately will look for more novel,s by this author. It seemed to describe Cornwall in the late 1870,s in brilliant detail. The description of Bodmin moor and the port,s were fantastic. It was also interesting to read about how the upper class lived. The description of everything from the countryside and surroundings to the relationships between the characters were excellent.
