I found this book to be alright. The story took a very long time to get going and it wasn't until the last quarter of the book that I started to enjoy it. Amelia isn't a very strong character and I found her to be incredibly irritating and not endearing. Luke was probably my favourite character, but again he was poorly written and he lacked substance. There seems to be a lot lacking in this book.
From the synopsis the idea and main plot of this book should be extremely compelling. However, it took me a long time to read the book as I just wasn't interested in what was going to happen next.
It doesn't really hold up against other historical romantic fiction and is a bit wishy washy. I wouldn't recommend this book to a friend.
