I don't usually try this particular genre of book so I was intrigued to see how it was written and set.
I don't know too much about history but in the first look it seems quite accurate to the time period and makes historical sense.
The writing style is easy to read and really puts you in the perspective of the main character, like you're in 1798 in Cornwall. So far, it seems really interesting and the relationships are cute and set out well. Each setting plays out in my mind with the vivid description and really sets the atmosphere.
Overall, despite this not being my usual kind of book, I'm intrigued and the whole idea interests me. I would recommend this book to anyone who is especially interested in this genre and fancies some light reading.
