I would not have picked this book from the cover as it looks like it might be a trashy romance novel. However, I enjoyed this book a lot more than I was expecting. Amelia is a really great character with a lot more substance to her than you usually get in this genre and I like that she is loved not just for her looks. There are several other strong female characters too. I like that there is a little bit of history of medicine in the story which is always interesting. I feel like the book could have been a bit shorter as it dragged a bit in places. I also got a bit confused with who was who at times. There are a few great twists and turns though. It maybe got a bit rushed towards the end and finished a bit abruptly which was a bit disappointing after all the build up. I'm really glad I tried this book and would definitely look out for other titles by the same author.
