Cold, lonely landscape , where things aren't as quiet as they first seem.

An intriguing point of view from a Polish male who has lived through war first hand, seen it up close rather than reading the version that is delivered. You can almost feel the unforgiving , harsh cold and imagine the beautiful but hostile environment with the author's subtle descriptions of it's impact. The man's reluctance to become a witness to whatever was to unfold tell us something already of a life that has already seen enough, excitement, adventure and adversity. I have no idea where this story will go from my first impression but I feel that his past may become of relevance again.
