Although this is book #3 in the Karin Muller series, until quite late on in the story I don't think it's apparent at all. There are fleeting comments throughout that suggest this book follows on an already established story, but I genuinely don't think you have to have read the other two to enjoy this one. I certainly didn't.

As this book is set in East Germany I did struggle with some of the names, places and general language used, but it didn't put me off reading it. The glossary at the back helps with that.

It's an interesting but easy read, with a couple of twists and turns every few chapters. And although based on true events from history, this story is fiction through and through. Leading to an added interest in what may lay ahead for Karin and her family.
