A bit slow in places

I did enjoy this book but did find it a little slow in places which stopped me giving it 5 stars.
The story starts when a Norwegian star skier is found to have a banned substance in her system, and her father engages a lawyer who he is threatening to have struck off for gambling his money, to look into it and clear her name. It follows this journey over quite a short time frame, yet sometimes it feels like it is being dragged out into longer than it should be.
There are several other strands, including the death of another skier, (and the lawyers godson), which are shown to overlap as the story goes on.
The main characters are well developed and believable, if not always likeable.
A bit slow, but overall clever and enjoyable.
