This isn’t my usual genre and I’m really not sure why, because I loved the only other book I’ve ever read in this genre, The Hypnotist, too.

To be honest, the only reason I first went for this book was the very creepy front cover, which is incredibly fitting for the contents of the book, though the tone of that was even darker than I had expected.

I found the writing a little long - winded in places, though this is only a minor criticism. It’s also rather clichèd and easy to predict in places, but I didn’t really mind that.

This probably goes without saying, but if you scare easily when things get dark, this one probably isn’t for you. However, if you like an unnerving read that’s a bit screwed up in places, then I’d say it is!
