I was looking forward to this book. But I was so disappointed. I could not get into the story at all. It seemed that the story kept jumping from scenario to scenario without a link I could follow. The characters I found hard to form a picture of. I am afraid to say I gave up before half way. Maybe it just was not the book for me. Anne Holt is listed as Norways best female crime writer, but I just could not enjoy her style of writing.
The story hinges around Seima Flack who has hit rock bottom. She has lost everything in her life in quick succession. Then Jan Morrell , the person responsible for her downfall, rings her doorbell. He is desperate to overturn a doping accusation against his daughter. He needs Selma to clear his daughters name.

I have added an update to my review, my wife has just finished reading this book and she found it to be a great read and a thoroughly good story. She has been gripped from the time she picked it up to finishing it.
My wife would have given a rating of four stars for the book.
