There is quite a lot to this book, as you read things come to light that don't really piece together until a lot later in the book, but it all adds to the intrigue! Selma Flack is a lawyer who is soon to lose her licence, living in a dingy flat with her cat, she receives a visit from Jan Morell, who offers her an opportunity to get out of the situation she is in. Jan Morell's daughter Hege a top rated cross country skier and contender for the winter olympics, has failed a routine drug test. Father and daughter both know that there has been foul play and Selma is tasked with finding out what is going on. Meanwhile a male skier is found dead and after the post mortem it is found that he has the same drug in his system as Hege and it looks like the two cases are linked. Selma sets out to find out the truth, aided by her friend an ex policeman who is now homeless and living under a bridge, who acts as confidant and advisor.

I really enjoyed this Norweigan crime novel, it really evoked a winter wonderland setting and I found it a real page turner and a book that I could really get into.
