A Grave For Two is a Norwegian crime novel by Ann Holt which delves into the closed and competitive world of distance skiing.

The novel follows Selma Falck, a disgraced former lawyer with gambling problems, as she is hired by businessman Jan Morell to clear his daughter's name in a doping scandal that has rocked the skiing community.

I enjoyed this book overall, especially the character of Selma. She's flawed, at rock bottom and has had to put her career in the hands of a businessman who wouldn't think twice about turning her in. The setting was expertly layered and despite not knowing anything about skiing, I didn't feel too lost or feel like I wasn't engaged.

The issues I had with the book mainly stemmed from the fact that there were too many extra characters that didn't really need to be there. The novel could have done without some entire character arcs and have come to the same conclusion. Selma also very conveniently worked out a lot of really complicated threads of the story to solve the case with very little to go on. This took away from the novel's believability.
