I’d never read Scandinavian crime fiction before so thought a book by Norway’s best selling female crime writer would be a good place to start. The book is the first in a new crime series featuring the lawyer Selma Falck . I’d heard good things about the author but I think half way through I came to realise that maybe the genre just st wasn’t for me . I found the plot quite confusing at times and think there was maybe too much going on and too many mini plots making up the main plot! I’m not one to abandon books so I did persevere . Each chapter tends to focus on a different character which diesventuslly all come together but I think it’s a book you have to keep reading often an not leave a day or two or you forget what was happening . To sum up, it was ok but don’t think I would go out of my way to read the next one in the series.
