Not for me

This one had potential, it really did, but the heavy emphasis on skiing is what ended up putting me off, so I didn't actually finish the book in the end. Selma Falck has hit rock bottom: a broken marriage, no job, and her kids don't want to see her. When Norway's best female skier is accused of doping, Selma is given the job of clearing her name. It sounds good. I thought I would like it.

But I got bored quickly, and nothing intrigued me beyond that basic premise. Selma is not very likable, nor is anyone else in the story. Sometimes that doesn't matter, but the whole combination of characters I didn't like, a lacklustre plot and a subject that I knew nothing about, meant it was really just not for me.

If you are at all interested in skiing, I'd suggest giving this one a go.
