So Scandi Noir then - dark brooding characters, mysterious secrets everywhere you look, double crosses, red herrings (and actual herrings sometimes) plus lies - so many lies that we the reader know are all going to unspin over the course of three or four hundred pages.

You already know if you love Scandi Noir and if you do then I heartily recommend A Grave for Two by Anne Holt.

Ms. Holt has taken the familiar tropes and put them to work in a different setting than I was used to (sport and doping in alpine skiing). Obvious skiing and Scandinavia are a good match and the rich world of competition, training and fierce rivalries come jumping off the pages and I for one found it very hard to put the book down.

Bravo!
