Bit of a slow burner! I'm up to page 140 at the moment and am finally being drawn in to the story . I find some parts of the novel intriguing but have found the characters a little one dimensional and cliched. The prose is direct and well written but the story moves quite slowly and can be lacking in drama and punch which can get boring. I am definitely going to persevere and continue reading as there is so much in the book that is promising. As I previously stated I am beginning to become more engaged as the backstory of the protagonists develops and they become more rounded and more believable. I have read an earlier novel by the same author and would most certainly read her again.
