A Grave for Two was my first foray into the work of Anne Holt and unfortunately, it was not as enjoyable as I thought it would be. I usually love crime thrillers but I found this book to be quite complicated and slow-paced, with an ending that felt rushed and confusing. The winter sports theme worked well for the most part and the main protagonist, an athlete turned lawyer named Selma Falck, had several redeeming character traits. I enjoyed Selma's friendship with homeless former police officer Einar Falsen and I felt that the basis of their friendship could have made an interesting story in itself. However, I found it difficult to connect with the many other characters and follow their roles in the plot. I liked the concept of this book - I thought it had promise - but the execution fell flat for me.
