A spooky tale.
Firstly. I am generally a huge fan of ghost stories and tales of the supernatural so the title alone was enough to catch my attention. Add the wonderfully spooky front cover and this was definitely a book that I wanted to read.
I found myself totally intrigued right from the beginning. I am not generally a big fan of stories of a historical nature or with a historical setting, in this case shortly after World War One, but I quickly found myself immersed into the story and wanting to read more.
I immediately loved the character of Kate, a code breaker, as she came across as an intelligent and strong-minded woman. Someone I was looking forward to spending my time with on the journey that was A House of Ghosts.
I really liked the small illustrations at the beginning of each chapter, they added a nice artistic touch.
