I’m unsure…
What intrigued me the most about this book was first of all it was under Horror, it was set during the First World War and ghosts would be a part of the story.
Up until half way into this book I was really intrigued, the plot was good, characters were likeable and there was a great mystery. However, the ending left me a little confused and disheartened to be honest. It felt rushed and I was unclear of how the ending actually came about, which made me feel like I needed to go back and re-read the last couple of chapters.
I gave this book a 3/5 purely for the characters being enjoyable, the style of writing and suspense within the book, but I wish the ending had been clearer, longer and focused more on the idea of ghosts and horror. It could’ve really take advantage of being a scary and shocking ending.
I would definitely try another one of this authors books as the style of writing flowed well and told a story in an enjoyable way.
