You get the initial hints of the supernatural or something not quite normal about the world the characters inhabit, as well as the premise of some very unusual talents from Kate.

The charactersof Kate and Donovan seem to be at odds, very different personalities, so I look forward to seeing how well they work together. You already get a sense of the potential conflict their, as well as a clue as to what could be if they work together.
