A brilliant version of a who dunnit murder story with some ghosts and wartime drama thrown in!
Kate as a main character is wonderful and it’s great to see such a strong female lead in any kind of book, almost becoming a heroine, she is portrayed as very smart and also an elegant lady.
Donovan is a loveable character who you can empathise with throughout with all the turmoil he is facing while trying to help with the chaos on the island.
I didn’t particularly find it creepy as the main review on the cover stated but I did really enjoy the seance and ghost aspect as it’s a big conversation as to wether we do believe in the afterlife and ghosts. I loved that the ghosts played a big part in the story and picturing all these passageways thought the abbey really made you feel like you were in the castle with them!
Brilliant ending and eventually became apparent who was to blame but a good ending nonetheless
