I love a good spooky story and House of Ghosts was definitely that. I think haunted house books are a perfect winter read. The characters in this story were all intriguing and I was hooked throughout as the mystery of what was happening unfolded. I thought the writing was evocative and really added to the intensity of the atmosphere and story.
The setting was really well done, the story showed the aftermath of the absolute horror of the war and how much it affected the people left behind. The ghostly aspect of this was what attracted me to it and I'm really glad I gave it a read. I would be very happy to read more from this author as this book was a really interesting look at grief and loss.
