The cover entices me because it covers a period in which I have great personal interest and experience. World War II. I was 5 when it started (born 1.2.34. I would have preferred 12.3.45. but my parents did the best they could at the time.) We lived in London throughout, I was not evacuated, fortunately on the Westside at Wembley.

However, I vividly remember the blitz, our fruit trees were ser on fire, my school was bombed, houses were destroyed by land mines in our road, I heard V1 doodlebugs and knew when to take cover, and slept under a steel sheet in a Morrison shelter.

If the meeting portrayed is fiction or not, it is certainly of the greatest interest to me and I would probably purchase the paperback edition in any event. I only purchase hardbacks at reduced prices as an 86 year old pensioner on a fixed income. Reading is my great relaxation and enjoyment as I only watch cricket with the sound off on TV (I can tell them what's going on) being hard of hearing.

Kind regrds,

David Sherman
