I’m not a huge fan of spy thrillers however I previously read Nemesis and found it easy to follow but engrossing and this continues to be the case with Rory Clement’s latest book. Continuing to follow Professor Tom Wilde during the Second World War it features a very interesting take on the plane crash in which Prince George perished and also good insight into one of the most horrific elements of the Nazi regime. This educated me in some elements of the war as much as it entertained me, I did find the Nazi characters a little confusing in terms of who was who but overall the characters are very strong, well written and with interesting stories to tell. The places featured were well described and easy to visualise and the story was detailed but fast paced enough to hold my interest. I’d definitely look to read the next book and see where the character evolves further.
