This book seems like a 'Call the Midwife' fan's dream book - and that's exactly what I am! I absolutely love historically based novels so this book really appeals to me. After all, there's nothing better than getting stuck into a good novel and learning a little more about the past along the way. The cover is really appealing and immediately tells the reader what era the story is set in. The pictures used also remind me a lot of the 'Call the Midwife' intro. Upon reading the blurb I am really intrigued to find out more about Ida's life, what help she has to give to Ellen, and for what reason. Also I am already wondering who the 'little boy' is; Ellen's son?, Ida's son?, An orphan? This one is going straight on my 'to read' list!
