I was pleased to revisit the East End family the Brogans in this second book about them. Set two years after the outbreak of the war it deals with Ida and Jerimiah, the parents of Jo, Billy, Mattie and Cathy. The book is an easy read but depicts the hardship and monotony of day to day living in wartime so well and with a lot of humour. I like the photograph used on the cover.
