What a lovely cover, it’s the kind of cover that wants you to begin looking at the book. Then you start with the story, Queenie is a right rogue who makes you smile whilst reading. It starts of regarding the war and how everyone is surviving and how much things have had to change. The Brogan family are a normal happy family until her friend arrives and the wife then finds out something that changes everything and possibly breaks up a loving family and marriage.
For me it’s my type of book and the writer has looked into the war time to get an accurate description of a families time in the war. How the family cope especially with the revelations keeps you gripped. A brilliant read so far, it’s going to be a book that’s hard to put down
