Anything WWII I am there. I don't know what it is in regards to that era but I can't get enough.
I love to read about the 40's and how communities came together to help one another in such a dark period of history.
So much has been written about the brave men fighting for our country many miles away from home and so it should be. They must never be forgotten about! Ever!
But more needs to be wrote about the brave women and children, and men, on the home front. How they kept going in the darkest of times.
This book covers that, raitioning didn't end in 1945, it continued into the 1950's, I think people of a later generation forget that.
My mum, who was born in 1944 remembered my grandma having to be extremely careful.
This book sounds an extremely thought provoking book.
