The cover is very appealing - the clothing alone is what I can remember. This book is one I would definitely want to buy if I saw it in a bookshop. I love reading books set in war time - maybe because that was the time I was born although I was too young to really remember it. I do remember ration books though and queuing up to buy things when they were in stock. I also remember taking our surplus sugar to a local sweet factory in exchange for sweets.
