I love reading about the East End and the War. I wasn't told anything during my childhood about the war. It was a subject never discussed! My family grew up in Bethnal Green and so books relating to this, I find really interesting. My granddad built barrows for the market in Bethnal Green. A clever man, and inventive. A brilliant author, I have some of her books and she brings the story alive with her descriptions and keeps the reader involved and not wanting to finish the story, as so enjoyable.
