I love war time dramas, as you really get a sense of how things are after the war and the difficulties they face. This book is no different as you can really imagine the street and the houses in which they live, which is described really well.
I like Ida's character and the sense of strength she portrays. Being a woman with grown up kids and being part of a long marriage, shows her true character and how she is trying to carry on as normal after the war.
I would love to continue to read the book to find out how Ida's marriage and her character will deal with the blow that has been dealt to her.
