Ida Brogan's family is struggling amidst the nightly bombing raids in London's East End.

And can she overcome her sadness to find a place in her heart for a little boy, one who will need a mother more than ever in these dark times?
What a great storyline. I found it so gripping and hard to put down. The characters are also easy to conned to and figure in my head. Queenie is hilarious! I can't wait to read the other books in the series in the hope I can get more story on the other family members. Will be reading more of Jean Fullerton's books for sure.
It's a great story set back in the time of the World War and I'd recommend it for anyone interested in the this 'genre' of book. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys a romance with a twist of drama!
