Being a big fan of tv shows such as Call the Midwife and novels such as the tattooist of auschwitz I was really excited to get stuck into this book but unfortunately I just couldn’t get into it. I don’t know if it was just the story line or the way in which it was written simply didn’t suit my personal preferences but I only managed to get less than half way through before giving up on it. I think the book has great potential and maybe I just need a bit more excitement in a book therefore I would maybe suggest that it is suited to an older audience. I might leave it for a while and come back to it as I usually love a good historical novel so it is very unlike me to not be able to finish one.
