I enjoyed this book. The cover appealed to me because I enjoy the Nightingale Nurse books and it looked like that sort of thing. It is the same genre but not quite as gripping. I haven't read the book that goes before this in the series but it does recap key things that have happened. The story lines didn't all get finished off so I guess there will be more in the series. I enjoyed the main storyline and seeing the range of feelings Ida goes through in whether she can forgive Jeremiah and her wanting to do the right thing. The story was a bit slow paced at times and a bit predictable and I was disappointed that some of the storylines didn't come to a proper conclusion. It does paint a picture of how life was at the time with rationing and the bombings.
