I thought this book was very interesting, so much so I passed this onto my gran who is currently in the process of reading it. This books helps to realise the struggles in which some people faced, the dark days of the blitz and not witnessing your family struggling to then seeing how far modern world has come today. The characters are charming and beautiful people, Ida being my favourite. Her generosity and such care is heart warming. A ration book childhood is one of those books you won’t want to put down once you’ve began to read it, a really heart puller, really does give thoughts of living during the period of the war, all I could think about was both my grandparents who grew up during this period and my grandad who fought in the war. Well done. Amazing book
