I didn't realise this was a book in a series but I don't think it overly mattered as it is easy to read and get to know the characters. The cover to this book is lovely and eye catching. This is beautifully written and makes you feel like you are there with the characters, a great historical novel.
This book follows the story of mother and wife, Ida. Times are hard for everyone, especially with all the bombings. Christmas is coming and it's hard to do anything whilst in rations, but Ida will do her best.
It is a lovely read and a great insight as to how things were for people. Reading this really makes you appreciate what we all have. I will be keeping an eye out for more of Jane's books.
